This Irish Heart

I usually like to entertain the idea of fate and that most everything happens for a reason. I do not however, think every single event is black or white; there are certainly a few shades of gray mixed in where things just happen to move other things along. Sure, it’s more difficult to accept this about the things that happen that are tough and seem impossible to keep struggling through. You’ll always have those times to make you stronger. But what I can’t seem to ignore is that no matter what you believe, you’ll always end up where you are meant to be with who you are meant to be standing next to. And just when you think it has to be the end, that’s when it is always the beginning.

Some people in this world do not seem to understand that keeping up a positive exchange of words with your peers can get you further than one might assume. Your parents weren’t kidding when they told you to ‘kill them with kindness’. That kid you threw dirt at in high school may end up being your child’s pediatrician or your family’s mechanic.  If we all kept that in mind before “getting into it” with another person, whether or not it’s worth the time or will make us sleep easier, there would be significantly less violence to report about on the news each evening.

I’m officially challenging myself to keep all my whit about me and not let the few rude and unnerving people that cross my path take away my dignity and to always use my own kindness against their petty arrogance.

As for going through times that seem impossible to keep struggling through myself, I’ll just have to keep the thought in the front of my mind that what is meant for me will find its way and hopefully the journey to that time will get easier as I go.
